Infected pre-auricular sinus

Infected pre-auricular sinus

Description : If pathogenic bacteria enter the opening of a pre-auricular sinus, then the tract may become infected.

If the tract of an infected pre-auricular sinus is patent, then a milky purulent material will be seen oozing on to the skin surface.

If, however, the opening of the pre-auricular sinus is occluded, a pre-auricular abscess may then form.
